We want Spice Girls!
That’s the battle cry for most of irate Australian fans following the group’s decision to trash plans to proceed with their concert in the land Down Under. The group has never been to Australia.
Widely publicized over the weekend, Spice girls announced that they would be excluding Australia on their world reunion tour because of “family and personal commitments“.
The Spice Girls has also called off planned concerts in Beijing, Cape Town and Buenos Aires, and will finish up in Toronto, Canada, on February 26 instead.
However, some internet sites are still telling people that the group could have a gig in Sydney on April 30.
Subsequently, annoyed supporters have lashed out in the internet to convey their frustration, attacking the group’s unofficial website SpiceGirls.co.uk with unenthusiastic reactions.
“I am absolutely disgusted in them,” one fan named Charm announced.
“Most of us have been waiting years for this and they have just ruined it all for us.â€
“As far as I am concerned, they have just lost another fan. So much for girl power.”
Many called the all female group a bunch of liars.
“They have known all along when their kids go to school or whatever,”.
“It’s a crappy excuse, really it’s all just about money … they’ve made enough now so who cares about anywhere else right?“
Spice Girls supporters said that they were disappointed with the fact that promoters kept on giving false hopes regarding concert dates.
“How dare they get our hopes up by sending emails asking us how many tickets we wanted,“
Also popular and widely published on the web is a photograph of the group holding up a sign – “We Lie“.
A number of aficionados admitted that they had postponed out of the country tours to have a glimpse of the group.
There is some hearsay spreading that there’s a bickering within the band.
The Spice Girls joined up in the midst of media clamor June last year, they were also able to release a greatest hits album which instantly went straight to number one in Australia.
