JK Rowling Recounts Own Suicide Alarm
JK Rowling, Harry Potter’s world renowned writer admitted that she had fallen in the depths of despair after her separation from her first husband, the paper Sunday Times announced.
She had been tormented by depression that required medical assistance and attended a therapy after her divorce from Portuguese correspondent Jorge Arantes near the beginning 1990s, the novelist advised the paper.
“Mid-twenties life circumstances were poor and I really plummeted,” Rowling announced, adding: “The thing that made me go for help … was probably my daughter.”
“She was something that earthed me, grounded me, and I thought, this isn’t right, this can’t be right, she cannot grow up with me in this state,” she continued.
Rowling said: “We’re talking suicidal thoughts here, we’re not talking ‘I’m a little bit miserable’.â€
The Potter author, who is commended for inspiring an entire age band of kids to read with her seven-part story on boy wizard Harry Potter, scribbled the first volume as a single mother existing in poverty in Edinburgh.
She soon after hailed as one of the world’s wealthiest women, with personal assets of more than 650 million euros.
