Keanu Reeve’s legal counsel visited the Los Angeles Superior Court Tuesday, appealing to have the lawsuit filed against Reeves by a shutterbug who alleges he was beaten up by the revved-up actor last year be moved to arbitration.

Jeffrey Redd officially made the appeal in court papers filed earlier this month and today requesting the court for a continuance until the May 5 trial, when he will properly progress to strike the cameraman’s demand for considerable castigatory compensation.

Brazilian paparazo Alison Silva, not unfamiliar to star encounters filed the negligence suit in opposition to Reeves Nov. 5, rooting from a confrontation that happened in the parking lot of a Rancho Palos Verdes in March 2007.

Silva asserts that he was only trying to take a picture of the actor as he pulled out of a parking space, only to be hit by Reeves’ vehicle, a 1996 Porsche 911. Paramedics treated Silva on the spot and then transferred him to a hospital;

Silva claims that his automobile was dented and he experienced injuries that impede his capacity to go on his work. He’s looking for compensation for the property damage, loss of earnings, medical expenses, legal costs as well as unrevealed damages.
