Keeping up with the title Material Girl, Madonna was proclaimed as the richest female artist in the world!
She’s number one, after raking in an astounding $US72 million during June 2006 until June 2007, as a result to an annual survey by Forbes Magazine.
The majority of her income came from her Confessions tour which is projected to have grossed some $US260 million. Her 72-million-dollar payslip was not even taken into account with the $US120 million contract she signed with Live Nation in October.
Barbara Streisand, came in second dished around $US60 million on her sucessful comeback tour, closely preceeded by Celine Dion, whose standard engagements at Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace aided her to collect $US45 million dollars.
Hot Colombian star Shakira was in fourth with $US38 million, trailed by Beyonce ($US27), Gwen Stefani ($US26 million) and Christina Aguilera ($US30 million).
Country singer Faith Hill ($US19), country rock band The Dixie Chicks ($US18 million) and Mariah Carey ($US13 million) finished up the top ten list.
