British Singer Arrested Again

British singer Amy Winehouse has again been invited for questioning by London Metropolitan Police; this time regarding a video that allegedly showed her smoking cocaine. No charges were filed yet as an investigation is still ongoing.

We are lead to believe that this most recent investigation spawned from a tabloid article that came out in January. In said tabloid were still images captured from a video that showed Winehouse inhaling what appears to be crack fumes from a pipe. These images were said to have been filmed during a party at the jazz diva’s East London home.

The video is actually posted online on YouTube (search under “amy winehouse smoking crack”). Winehouse is shown walking around her house, talking to a friend on her phone, and talking to the person shooting the video about taking valiums.. and eventually smoking what is undeniably a crack pipe!

Winehouse – whose claim to fame was the autobiographical single “Rehab” – actually was admitted to a London drug rehabilitation center last January 24. She entered as part of her ongoing battle against drug addiction.

In a written statement, the Universal Music Group said that, “Amy decided to enter the facility today after talks with her record label, management, family and doctors.”

Winehouse has become a household name not only for her hit single but also for her well-documented battle with drug addiction. In December of last year, tabloids published pictures of Amy with a “mysterious” (again: undeniably crack) white powder in her nose.

Still earlier that month she was pictured wandering the streets of London half-naked and barefoot, appearing anxiously disoriented.

In that same month, London police briefly arrested her and questioned her in a case involving her husband. Winehouse’s rep Tracey Miller gave little weight to the arrest, saying Winehouse went in voluntarily. Still, Amy posted bail after the so-called “questioning.”

Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil is currently serving time on charges of perverting the course of justice following a bar fight.

Soon after her husband’s demise, Winehouse began slurring through performances; often being booed off stage by her audience. She also went to a rehab center that summer, then was arrested at a later date at a Norwegian hotel for marijuana possession.

Her parents have publicly expressed concern that Winehouse is giving in to the pressures of fame and fortune. Fame that has brought her six nominations for the coming Grammy Awards. Nominations include record and song of the year for “Rehab” and best album for her second release entitled Back to Black.
