Amy Winehouse will not be attending the Grammy Awards on Sunday (Feb. 10) in Los Angeles, after her visa application to enter the United States was denied by the American Embassy in London. However, Winehouse may still appear on the CBS broadcast via satellite.

According to E! Online Senior Editor Marc Malkin, organizers had originally allotted rehearsal time in Los Angeles for Friday, and as a contingency, have retained a crew in London to produce a live satellite feed. The thinking is that Winehouse can belt out one or two songs and accept any awards in real time. However, it’s not immediately clear if Winehouse will be up for the long-distance performance.

Winehouse, who is up for six awards, has been admitted in Capio Nightingale Clinic in North London to deal with her drug problems.

“Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery,” her publicist, the Outside Organization, said in a statement Thursday.

Although Winehouse won’t be attending this year’s Grammy’s, any Grammy wins will definitely boost sales for her sophomore album “Back to Black” which sold 1.85 million copies in the UK during 2007 according to chart compiler the Official U.K. Charts Co.
