Nicole Kidman has recently exposed that she looks forward to create new movies intended to reach youngsters.
“A lot of the films that I have made are adult films,” the actress told a news conference in Tokyo to endorse the Japanese opening of The Golden Compass.
“I think once you have children,” she gushed, “occasionally you want to make films that they can take their friends to.“
Her objective, she mentioned, would be to complete movies that appeal to both boys and girls of around 15 years old.
“It’s fun — it requires different skills,” she commented.
Kidman, is expecting her first biological baby with spouse Keith Urban, a country singer. She has two adopted children with her ex husband, actor Tom Cruise.
Kidman took home a best actress Oscar in 2002 for The Hours in which she depicted English author Virginia Woolf.
She was also selected for an Oscar nod the previous year for her role in the musical Moulin Rouge.
Kidman’s other complex roles have included Stanley Kubrick’s sexually thrilling story Eyes Wide Shut and Lars von Trier’s inconspicuous Dogville.
The Golden Compass relates the tale of an orphan who sets off on a voyage with a miraculous gold compass save her best friend.
The film is an artistic version of The Northern Lights, the first book in British author Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials fantasy trilogy.
