Hot singer Justin Timberlake has been requested to emcee the 2008 ESPY Awards, scheduled to air July 20 at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.
The once a year ceremony, offered by ESPN, commemorate the best and brightest sporting moments of the year as voted by the viewers and sports aficionados, who can take part in an election and root for their favorites online at espys.tv starting July 1.
“I’m very excited to be hosting the 16th edition of the ESPYs. I can’t wait for the day of the show as I’m truly a sports junkie,” Timberlake said.
“Since the last ESPYs, there have been amazing moments in sports, and I’m looking forward to recapping all of them with ESPN’s diehard fans.”
This isn’t JT’s first time with hosting job. In 2007, he took control over the 20th annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, where he was awarded as Favorite Male Singer (and consequently drenched with green slime). The crooner is up for the matching credit at this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards, set to broadcast this Saturday.
Up at the forefront, Timberlake is majorly billed opposite Mike Myers and Jessica Alba in The Love Guru, premieres in the cinema worldwide on June 20.
