Idol Contestant Danced Nude

It has been confirmed. American Idol hunk David Hernandez (pictured above in one of his show performances) was a former male stripper.

On Monday, Dick’s Cabaret manager Gordy Bryan confirmed that the aspiring singer lap danced for the club’s, er, “male” clients. He did it for three years.

He added that David “had the look and the type that people like, so he made pretty good money here.”

But Idol producers are brushing off rumors that the show will sanction the contestant by disqualifying him from the competition.

“We’ve had strippers on the show before,” said executive producer Ken Warwick on TVGuide.com. “We’re never judgmental about people who do things like that.

“If it were some sort of heavy porn, then maybe we’d have to take action. But certainly not on this.”

And he did not disappoint the fans in his supposed last performance.

All three Idol judges gave Hernandez good reviews (actually, two, since Paula Abdul never really does anything but give good reviews). Funny about the performance though is that he sang Celine Dion’s “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” which happens to be a great song to strip to. Haha! Anyways, Simon Cowell even added that the performance guaranteed Hernandez a spot in the final 12 next week.

Of course, nobody mentioned anything about the stripper thing on the show.

A certain Marisa Ronstadt told an Arizona local paper: “He’s the sweetest guy. It’s like they’re trying to create a scandal. It shouldn’t matter. What’s in the past is in the past. His talent is what is important.” She used to work with Hernandez – no, not as a stripper – as the vocalist of their former band.

What most people don’t know though is that Hernandez only stopped working there since he started his American Idol dream. So… if this didn’t prove to be the right career for him we all know where he’ll end up! Just kidding – he actually sings pretty good. And looks pretty gay in the photos below. He denied that he was gay on recent interviews.

What most people know though is that this isn’t the first sexually tinted scandal for American Idol. There are a lot!

In 2003, a contestant named Frenchie Davis was disqualified after reports came in that she posed nude for a pornographic website. Last year, Antonella Barba was subject to scrutiny due to several racy photos of her on the net. But unlike Davis, she was allowed to remain on the show but was voted out by fans themselves.
