Brangelina Secret Marriage?
March 30, 2008
Three days ago, US based “tabloid†-ish magazine Star announced thru e-mail to all their media partners and journalist friends that dirty hunk Brad Pitt and luscious lips Angelina Jolie “took it to the next level†and got married at the French Quarter Wedding Chapel in New Orleans. Wow! Just like that..
To say that this is the biggest news and the biggest wedding of the decade is an understatement. Needless to say, everyone from Abkhazia to Zimbabwe went ape crazy to get updates and info on the announcement. How could news of this magnitude easily sneak through the entire world? It simply could not be true.
Turns out, much to the non-surprise of everybody, the news was false. Nothing, and I mean nothing was said anywhere at anytime that the couple got hitched. Not a damn clue.
Rev. Tony Talavera, the French Quarter Wedding Chapel’s minister himself, flat out denied the entire thing. Not just that, he also revealed to another US mag that Star offered him three grand to corroborate their story. How low could you go?! Who would pay a religious man cheap money to tell a lie?! Shame on you, Star!
In another mag, Talavera said Brad Pitt’s rep contacted him to make sure he sticks with the truth. Brangelina was not even in New Orleans, apparently. The couple was actually just next door in Austin, Texas, where Brad Pitt is filming his latest flick, “Tree of Life.” He and Sean Penn had been filming in Texas since February.
To save what little credibility they have left, Star has now retracted their story, which said that “sources in a position to have information regarding a secret wedding ceremony between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, had confirmed to Star that the couple married in the French Quarter Wedding Chapel on Saturday, March 29.”
The Star also added that another “reliable†source said, “There were two weddings, one planned and one unplanned. Brad and Angelina’s was the planned ceremony. The weather wasn’t good, so we were indoors.”
The people at Star are now pointing their fingers at their previously unnamed source, Rev. Talavera, stating he did not stick with the story that he told the magazine. They said that, “After further investigation, the sources are not standing by their story.”
Let this be a lesson to all rumor mongers out there. If you are going to lie to make news, make sure they are petty news on petty stars.
