Patrick Dempsey recently inked a multiyear contract to be Avon Product’s latest image model for a new men’s fragrance.

Avon’s working to have the signature scent ready before its November unveiling, with a worldwide launch to follow in 2009.

This is Dempsey’s first adventure into the fragrance department endorsement. Women’s Wear Daily is already claiming that Dempsey’s arrangement could be worth a whopping $5 million for three years.

Jillian Dempsey, the actor’s makeup-artist better half, has also served as Avon’s international creative color director since 2006.

Dr. McDreamy’s contribution to health care is not only just for boob tube.

Patrick Dempsey recently announced that he is planning to open a new center to benefit cancer patients at Central Maine Medical Center.

The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing is scheduled to open Mar. 31, it will serve and grant education and maintenance programs for people afflicted with cancer and their families.

The actor also placed a seed grant for the center, which he formed in tribute of his mum, Amanda, who was fruitfully rehabilitated for ovarian cancer at the hospital and is now in remission.

Yes, it is true that Patrick Swayze (pictured above) is currently undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer – but what is not true is that he only has a few weeks to live.

“Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment so far,” said the actor’s personal physician, Dr. George Fisher. “All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue.”

The National Enquirer broke the news of the illness on their website saying that Swayze had already dropped 20 pounds and was given only five weeks to live. That is so rude!
