Weiland implored not guilty last Wednesday to driving under the influence of drugs with a previous conviction, asserting that he was clear-headed when he knocked another automobile on a Los Angeles freeway in November.

A pretrial inquiry is planned for Apr. 4. The alternative-rocker doesn’t have to appear in person because the indictment is a misdemeanor.
