Carrie Underwood is single again! Hooray!

The uber hot country singer broke up with boyfriend of seven months and “Gossip Gay Girl” star Chace Crawford.

Plus, she revealed in an interview with Extra during the “Idol Gives Back” taping that he was the one who broke up the relationship – and did it thru text message! How gay insensitive is that?

“We broke up over text, so it’s like ‘peace out’. It was completely mutual, we’re both fine,” added Carrie. “I don’t dislike him.”

She also added that being in the public eye has made their relationship even harder for both of them. The two chose to be discreet about their personal life together.

Carrie said keeping relationships public puts pressure on both parties – it’s like the people really care about how they are doing.

Which I think is very much a reality. I think what she’s trying to say it that media attention on their relationship also makes them unknowingly care about what we think.

“It’s difficult while you’re dating because people always make a lot bigger deal of things than they actually are,” Carrie told Extra.

“Then when you break up with somebody and then like two months later it comes out and it’s like you’re rehashing old stuff. I don’t know what that’s all out now.”

She also said that the break up really was “no big deal” – at least at Chase’s side we are sure of that! Carrie said there was no animosity whatsoever and that their relationship “just didn’t work and we both knew it didn’t work and there are no hard feelings at all whatsoever.”

But according to Chace’s younger sister “He was upset about the breakup.”

In an interview with People magazine, Candice Crawford, who also happens to be the current Miss Missouri USA 2008 (they are a pretty family) said that “It’s always hard when you lose a relationship” and that it was a big deal for Chace.

“Chace will get through it,” Candice added. “We love Carrie, too. They’re dolls and they’ll both do well.”

The couple had been an issue ever since they began dating in July of last year. According to reports, Carrie even spent Thanksgiving and part of the Christmas holidays with the Crawfords. Some sources even said that Chace’s parents thought “Carrie Crawford” would be a great addition to their brood.

His parents are undoubtedly in denial! Of course the relationship wouldn’t work – he’s gay!

Even before the breakup, rumors have already been spreading about Chace Crawford and former N’Sync member JC Chasez’ apparent gay love for each other – it’s cute: Chace and Chasez.

Chasez, however, denied that there was “more than friends” kind of love going on. In a radio interview, JC vehemently stated that they were “both straight” and weren’t dating.
